Social network marketing is creating a lot of buzz. Even clients who are new to online advertising speak about social network marketing and do not want to be left behind. Clients have used our expertise to leverage advertising in social networking sites like Face book, My space and many others.
Social Networks bring in advantages as potential consumers are connecting with other consumers and trust is higher. Many of the brands find their niche target audiences already in these network sites. (For instance traffic to Facebook from KSA, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar is estimated to be 22 million page views / month with 1.7 Million users. Over 300K women above 18, network in Facebook from the GCC countries.)
Generally attributes of marketing in Social Networks have the following attributes:
Business objective: The marketing campaign should match with a business objective; this is key regardless of the tools being used.
Community Goals: Every network community is different, each has unique goals (from supporting products, to each other, or to just be entertained). The campaign focus should be to meet the needs of the community, meeting the needs of the marketer should be positioned secondary. Effective social network marketing campaigns will first understand the major interests and unique networking attribute (UNA) of the community and learn how to meet this.
Self-expression: When Time magazine brought out a cover story on Youtube, it had a plain mirror like reflective cover to convey user generated content. Social networks members like to express their mind, convey their thought, to put it direct they like to communicate with each other. Thus campaigns should satisfy these member needs.
Media freebies: We have observed that the best way to get social media members to return is to offer them media for consumption. Depending on demographics and community needs, this could be audio, videos, or demos.
